Jose Arce completed his Bachelors of Science in Geology and Geophysics at the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1991 and his Masters of Science in Geophysical Engineering at the University of Arizona in 1993, where he participated in three research projects. He returned to Peru in 1993 and since then he has been active with his company, Arce Geofísicos, expanding it into design, execution, consulting and data processing of geophysical surveys. His professional work has been mostly in mining exploration, near-surface applications and groundwater studies. His experience exceeds 1380 surveys and consulting studies in most of the American region. He has also served in several committees in the Society of Exploration Geophysicsts, as well as the Society of Economic Geologists, where he was Regional Vice-President for South America in 2015. He also presided the Peruvian Geological Society in 2012-2013 and the XIII Latin American Geological Congress in 2008.
