Nathan received his BSc degree in chemistry from Adams State College and PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has been with Chevron for nine years, mainly as a product developer with responsibilities in handling hydraulic fluids, rock drill, way lubricants and metalworking products globally. He is now global brand industrial technology manager. Nathan is a participating member of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and is the chair for Section N Hydraulics in D02 since 2014, and Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). Nathan has also chaired or helped put together the Hydraulics Education course for STLE for four years.
